“Erebuni” Medical Center in cooperation with the leading American company Varian has built a one-of-a-kind radiotherapy center equipped with state-of-the-art radiation therapy, radiosurgery and radioisotope equipment of the latest generation.
The opening ceremony of the “Erebuni” Radiotherapy Center, which offers radical treatment services for patients with benign and malignant neoplasms, was also attended by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, RA Minister of Health, officials, representatives and foreign partners of the health sector. The opening ceremony was held on September 13.
According to the assessment of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, thanks to the Radiotherapy Center, basic services for the treatment of neoplasms are becoming available in Armenia.
"This is the result of cooperation between the state and private sector, as our policy is to develop standards, introduce new services, and procure these services for citizens through state orders. Furthermore, I note that the process of implementing insurance has encouraged the private sector to invest and provide modern services. Only through good cooperation between these two partners can we achieve positive results," said Avаnesyan, adding that the newly opened medical facility will actively collaborate with the National Institute after Fanarjyan, as the procurement of necessary isotopes is also carried out through the state institution.
The center is equipped with the latest generation of radio- and brachytherapy equipment from Varian, including Halcyon, Edge, and Bravos, as well as the newest Somatom go.Open Pro radiation planning tomography from the German company Siemens Healthineers, and the Siemens Biograph mCT 64 PET scan positron emission tomography scanner.
The “Erebouni” radiotherapy center also stands out for its modern radiosurgery capabilities.
Radiosurgery is a type of medical intervention that allows for the radiation treatment of benign and malignant neoplasms, as well as other lesions, by radically eliminating tumor cells.
Highly qualified specialists have international experience and have undergone many trainings. Most of them are invited from abroad.
After the opening ceremony, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the attendees toured the center, getting acquainted with the created conditions and equipment capabilities.
