Brachytherapy: Effective Treatment for Eyelid Tumors

One of the most effective methods for treating eyelid tumors is brachytherapy — a form of contact radiation therapy that allows radiation to be delivered directly to the tumor while preserving healthy tissues and the patient’s vision as much as possible.

Under local anesthesia, flexible plastic intrastats are inserted into the eyelid tumor. The procedure is painless and takes 2–10 minutes, depending on the size of the tumor and the number of intrastats placed.

The treatment course lasts 7–8 days, while in cases of conjunctival lymphoma of the eyelid, it takes only 4–5 days
